About Us

The Katikati Resource Recovery Centre is more than just a recycling hub—it’s a beacon of sustainability and inclusivity, driven by the mission to empower our community and protect the planet. Operating as a social enterprise for the Chrome Collective Charitable Trust, the centre is on a bold mission to transform waste into opportunity. We’re gathering precious resources to launch a vibrant Community Resource Recovery Centre at the Katikati Recycling Centre—a place where discarded items find new life, and people find meaningful purpose. By diverting materials from landfills and turning them into valuable goods, we aim to generate revenue that fuels Chrome Collective’s life-changing work. This financial support helps us create inclusive, rewarding employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities while championing equal opportunities for all.

At the heart of our work is a commitment to protect Mother Earth and foster a thriving community. Every donation, every purchase, and every repurposed item contributes to a brighter, more sustainable future. Join us on this resourceful adventure as we build a world where waste becomes worth, diversity is celebrated, and everyone has a chance to shine. Together, we’re not just recycling; we’re redefining what it means to care—for people, for our environment, and for the generations yet to come. The Katikati Resource Recovery Centre: where purpose meets progress!
